Project Management Process

Initiating a Project

All future project achievement will be built upon a successful project initiation phase. This phase is where ORPM can assist in defining objectives, developing proper project scope and purpose statements, identifying all major deliverables, creating project budgets and timelines, and assembling your project team. If externally funded, this phase is when proposals will be developed and submitted to funding agencies.

Planning

The project planning phase is where the ORPM can assist in development of all critical project documents that will guide you through the remaining phases. These documents include a project management plan, communications plan, risk management plan, responsibility matrix, quality assurance metrics, and a comprehensive budget.

Executing

The project executing phase is where the ORPM can assist in delivering on outlined deliverables and objectives. This includes vertical and horizontal communication to all project stakeholders, information distribution through technical and management status reports, and coordination of all necessary meetings and events.

Monitoring & Controlling

The project monitoring and controlling phase is where the ORPM can assist in ensuring your project remains in compliance in terms of budget, scope, and time. Compliance is maintained through the use of financial and timeline tracking, issues logs, team performance reports, and quality assurance activities.

Closing

The project closing phase is where the ORPM can assist in successful completion and closeout of all project related matters. Closeout includes coordination and collaboration on any required final reporting, delivery of all major technical deliverables, resolution of outstanding contractual or financial issues, lessons learned, and documentation archival systems.
